"I used to think that the day would never come."
- New Order (True Faith)
So yeah – I truly used to think that I would never create a blog. Even now I wonder whether I will ever really update it. I used to have a livejournal that was restricted to only a small bunch of readers, and there I used to rant about my personal life a lot. I had a strong feeling no one read my entries. :D Eventually I quit.
Anyway, now that I have a public blog, I will refrain from writing about very personal issues. Instead, I will write about different things I consider creative. That, because I think I'm leading a rather creative life. In a way.
The first creative thing I did after creating the account was searching for a blog theme, though well, I ended up only downloading a background image. I feel a bit lazy for not creating a blog layout by myself. It's not that I didn't know how to make one – I just, well... do such things for a living? Sort of yes, I study visual design in my last year, thus am about to graduate soon, and I also work in an advertising agency. Thus, I may write on such topics, but I am a bit reluctant to waste my sparetime on coding and such. Or "waste" may not be the word I'm looking for – not that it wouldn't be good to develop skills and such, but I do think I do deserve to concentrate on different issues when I'm not working or studying.
When I was still a high school student, webdesign used to be my dear hobby. Now it no longer is. My creative hobbies have changed; nowadays I'm into photography. I might like being a professional photographer, but I won't really head for such future. I like doing what I'm currently doing, and if I tried to become a pro photographer, I would surely give up that hobby as well.
Occasionally I get some freelance illustration commissions, and I can admit that of all the things I've drawn during the past few years, most have been for work. However, I do still draw more than I code for fun...
Creativity means a variety of things to me. It can be anything from clothes to music, from gaming to interior decoration and well... anything. At the moment I'm into roleplaying, animations, steampunk, 80's synthpop, gothic culture and many many other things, so, it's possible that I will be blogging about things related to my interests!
I am from Finland, but I kinda like to write in English. I don't have to ponder over the style of language, how formally or informally I should write... Of course there's a difference. But since English is, and will always be, a foreign language to me, it doesn't feel as awkward as it would in my mother tongue. But if I feel like it, I may occasionally write entries in Finnish as well.
Oh well, now... so long, until I figure out something sensible to say.
